The verykool Spark II is the latest entry in budget smartphones that compete with the Moto G phone. Having reviewed the previous 3G Spark and flagship Quantum from verykool, I was very looking forward to checking out another quality smartphone. The phone comes unlocked so you can use any prepaid or postpaid GSM carrier like T-Mobile, AT&T or MetroPCS.
The verykool S5015 features 5.0″ IPS LCD Capacitive Touchscreen, 1.3GHz Quad-Core CPU, Android 4.4 KitKat, 8MP rear camera, and 5MP front camera. The smartphone features fast 4G HSPA+ (21 Mbps DL, 5.76 Mbps UL). Also, included is a nice Faux Leather SmartJacket that comes with its own back piece that integrates with the smartphone. The blue back plate is removable and you can decide to add the SmartJacket for extra protection. The phone features ultra-slim 8mm bezel with “one glass solution” and a fully laminated screen.
The battery life of the verykool Spark II is up to 10 hours talk time/Up to 13 days standby time from the 2100 mAh Li-ion battery. Thanks to it’s quad core processor everything on the Smartphone feels snappy from browsing the web to playing games. The Spark II comes with almost stock version of Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat and everything works as expected. The sound quality on the phone is above-average and the 5 inch display is just the perfect size for a smartphone. The Spark II stand out feature is the 5MP front facing camera with flash that produces wonderful selfies. I believe this will be a big selling point with the teens. The verykool Spark II comes with 8GB of internal space with 5.74GB available to the user. The cool thing is that you can add up to 64gb of storage through microSD which most phones don’t have.
The Spark II is the perfect budget smartphone for those that want a phone that is unlocked, quite peppy and makes great selfies. The verykool Spark II is for those that wants a trendy phone that not everyone else has. I recommend anyone that is looking for an unlocked smartphone for under $180 to go and check out the verykool Spark II and you won’t be disappointed.
