Lenovo makers of the Thinkpad and Ideapads series of notebooks plans to sell a lower cost Netbook that could arrive as early as September.

Currently, Compal Electronics, Wistron and Pegatron Technology are all possible candidates to manufacture the netbook for Lenovo. Compal shipped around 1.1 million mainstream notebooks to Lenovo in the second quarter this year, while Wistron shipped around 550,000-580,000 Lenovo X-series ultra-portables and Pegatron shipped around 200,000 IdeaPads.

General manager of Lenovo Taiwan Ken Wong has confirmed that the company is considering selling a Netbook that would cater to the consumer and enterprise markets.
