I was looking for a portable grill I can put on my deck as well as take with me on camping trips. The Coleman Road Trip Propane Portable Grill LXE seems like the perfect choice as it folds up for easy transportation. I went back and forth between the Weber grill and this Coleman grill and chose the Coleman due to price.
The Coleman grill only takes a few minutes to assemble and the grill is mostly well built. The only weak spot I found was the plastic lid opener was already broken when I bought it. This was a Amazon Warehouse open box item so it may have been a return. I recommend you buy a new one just in case as I had to Loctite glue the piece back into place. The grill uses the smaller propane gas tanks and requires an adapter to use a full size propane tank which is not included. The Road Trip has wheels to take with you to the park or camping and it folds down flat to put into the trunk of your car.
The Coleman Road Trip Propane Portable Grill LXE grills hot dogs, hamburgers, steak, pizza, and other items rather quickly and very well. The burners are really close to the food so don’t leave the grill alone as the food will likely get burnt. Any food with a lot of grease will make the grill messy as it has a small drip tray but the grease goes everywhere.
At less than $130 this is a no brainer as it gets more used than my full size grill as it’s so convenient. I also love to grill in the winter and this portable is much easier to access on the deck than my big grill that is hard to get at with all the Michigan snow. I would not hesitant to recommend this grill to anyone looking for a portable grill.
